Stand across from your partner and alternate chest and bounce passes
Repeat the drill, this time with 2 balls (Drill 924)
Passing game – How many can you get with 2 balls in one minute?
Shooting –
Review good shooting form. They can practice shooting to their partners.
Spot shooting – Use cones or spots to mark 5 spaces about mid range from the basket in the corners, elbows and just in front of the free throw line (make sure everyone can reach the goal).
Dribble/Shooting game – Start players outside of the 3 point arc behind one of the cones/spots. One at a time each player will dribble in to the spot, staying low in triple threat, and go straight into their jumpshot. They must get their own rebound and rotate to the next spot to await their next turn. (Drill 222). Count all the makes and try to make 15 within 4 minutes or less as a whole team.
Lay-ups
Demonstrate proper technique and footwork. Use spots to help with foot placement - left, right and knee up. Start on the right side. Then repeat on the left side - right, left, and knee up. (Drill 224)
Lay-up game - see how many they can make as a team in 3 minutes. Only count makes made with proper footwork.
Defense game/drill. Use hand signals to have players defensive slide on demand left and right. Clap once for footfire, clap twice for half twists, and raise your hands overhead for them to lay out flat. (rest and repeat).
Scrimmage –
Have a controlled 3-on-3 scrimmage
Teach them to pass or shoot after they stop dribbling.
Remind defense to stay near their player without touching
