DISCUSSION QUESTIONS/ THOUGHTS

1. Is this your first time playing on a basketball team?
2. Let the athletes share of some other sport or activity they did in school for the first time.  How did you feel the first time you tried?
3. How did you overcome the fears that arose?  How did you feel as you were improving?

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Since this is the beginning of the season, don’t be afraid to learn new things.  Relate it to something you’ve done before.

Ex. Like riding a bike.

Be excited about the challenge.  Remind them we are all here to learn and to have fun.
